Studies of Pile Box Foundation Interaction Under Highrise Buildings

To study pile-box foundation interaction under highrise buildings on Shanghai soft soil, field measurements are reported for a 24-storeyed building on box foundation with 233 precast concrete piles, including settlement and bearing pressure at different points of the box foundation, and load on head of piles. Field measurements were performed throughout the construction period,lasting about 2 years and 3 months.Computations based on elastic theory and current specification have been performed for comparison.
