Examination of Stationarity and Ergodicity on Soil Profile

Based on the fundamental conception on stationary and ergodic stochastic process and lots of bore hole da-ta,the necessity and method to examine the stationarity and ergodicity of spatial distribution on static sounding testdata was presented. The correlation function was simulated with different mathematical functions. Different ways toobtain correlation distance was compared by large amount of calculation.And the engineering use of correlation dis-tance was discussed.
