Mechanism for Shar Failure of Weak Structural Plane and Fissured Rock

In this paper,the macroscopic law and microscopic mechanism for the direct shear failure ofthe weak structural plane and fissured rock are revealed. The theoretical basis and characteristic pointcriterion for the single point method of the direct shear to determine peak value of c and of this rockare proposed and are discussed.The problem of the feasibiltiy of this single point method is thus solvedtheoretically and methodologically.
