Abstract
A brief introduction to the new equipment of geotechnical model test in ng field produced byseepage body force, and description of the results of model test results of saturated foundation soilunder cireular plate loading, the plate was embedded at different depth below the surface of soil, Werepresented. Model tests in ng field illustrated that increased embedded depth of footing Will lead to thedistinct effects on the semement and strength of the foundation soil, the former tends to decrease andthe latter tends to increase. Based on these results, a new conception of the limited minimum settlementand its ratio, and the correction formnula of strength at different embedded depth are also given.
