Evaluation of Parameters of Vertical Bearing Capacity of Driven Pile from Static Cone Penetration

Abstract
Empirical formulas for evaluation of skin friction and end bearing capacity based on static cone pen-tration resistance are presented. The empirical formulas have been worked out on the basis of the data of 201 static cone tests and the calculated results have been compared with those from vertical static loading tests on 275 reinforced concrete driven piles, 4.09-60.05m in the depth of embedment of the layer, in 10 provinces and 2 cities in the nation. It is found that the results from evaluation of single pile agreed well with the observed values from static loading tests on piles.
