Numerical Analysis and Model Study of Jointed Rock Masses

Abstract
In this paper, an outline of elastic-plastic and elastic-viscoplastic algorithm formulations for rock masses with three sets of joint is given, and some details about model tests are described. The spacing between joints and the structural variation of rock masses during deformation are taken into account in the formulations. The results of calculation using the proposed formulations are quite close to those from model tests.
