Analysis of Plastic Backpacking Effect in Underground Circular Tunneling

Abstract
In this paper, based on the Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion, a complete analytical solution of stress and displscement field is presented for underground circular tunneling with flexible compressible plastic material filled between chamber rock and liner. The measured and calculated value of stresses or displacements is consistent satisfactorily for the practical engineering. It is a promising engineering method to fill the plastic material between chmber rock and liner for underground circular tunneling.
