Structural Analysis of Concrete Pavements on Soft Subsoils with Differential Settlements

A new analytical method has been developed for calculating the bending stresses in concrete pavements due to differential settlements of subsoils. It has been shown that the induced stresses could be lowered by increasing the relative stiffness of the slab or the whole pavement structure, by shortening the slab length, and by using the "sandwich" layer structure.
