Abstract
The anchored bolt with pretension is extensively used in underground and slope structures. When the coherent material has been solidified and the force device removed, the anehored bolt contraets. Meanwhile, shear stress is transfered from the anchored bolt to the rock mass around it through the coherent material. An additional stress field is produced in the surrounding rock mass and uneven deformation is caused in the anchored bolt.With the anchored bolts and the rock regarded as elastic, their mechanical boundary condition, geometry considered, this paper gives the stress distribution caused by anchored bolt contraction in rock mass and that within the bolt.This paper has used the Mindlin integral solution within the columnar space derived by R. Muki and E. Sternberg in the course of solving the problem.
