Questions of Rock Mechanics in the Design of A Underground Power House

In this paper a underground construction taken as an example, the principles of choosing locations and axes of underground caverns are recounted. a space stress field is inferred by means of FEM and regression analysis The stability analysis of the rock surrounding the underground constructions is carried out. Some noteworthy problems in the design are summed up and some subjects which deserve the further discussion are presented.
