An Engineering Approximate Method for Dynamic Calculations of Underground Rock Cavity

Abstract
A semi-analytical and semi-numerical method connecting the free field stresses with the stress around rock cavity is presented for dynamic calculations of underground rock cavity with arbitrary cross-section in the paper. The DOF, core requirements and computational efforts by this method are reduced considerably in comparison with the conventional finite element method. The formulae for dynamic calculations of underground rock cavity with liner are also given here.
