Abstract
This paper presents a method of the triaxial compression test by using a rubber pocket. The characteristics and advantages of proposed method are described in detail. An example of its application to weak rock with intensive tiny fractures is given in connection with design of a pressure tunnel. The test results show that the dislocation shift seems to be one of major failure mechanisms rof such rock mass.
