Finite Element Analysis for Retaining Structure with Anchor Slabs

The anchor slab structure is a type of retaining wall which consists of prefabricated face panels, tie-bars and anchor slabs embedded in earthfill. Several such structures were built on railways in China and were monitored with field observation instruments during the past 4 years.Five of these anchor slab structures were analyzed by finite element method in plane strain case, and the results of analysis are fairly close to the data obtained from field observations.This paper presents two results of the analysis.
