Abstract
The anchor slab structure is a type of retaining wall which consists of prefabricated face panels, tie-bars and anchor slabs embedded in earth fill. The structure maintains itself in equilibrium through soil-structure interaction. In comparison with masonry retaining walls, the anchor slab structure is very light and comparatively flexible. It is especially suitable to be adopted in regions of low bearing capacity. The principles of the equilibrium and stability analysis of anchor slab structures are presented hereof. Finally, the results of monitor observations on some of these structures are mentioned briefly.
