Abstract
The object of this paper is to analyze the stresses in CRCP due to wheel loads .A numerical method of three dimensional finite element is introduced. In this numerical procedure,a crack spring model and a steel bar model are used to model the transverse cracks and longitudinal steel in CRCP.An iteration is presented for studying the transfer of horizontal forces at the cracks.Critical positions separately for concrete slab and reinforcing steel are determined from numerical calculation .The influence of some factors on the stresses ,such as crack spacing, elastic modulus of subgrade, and the percentage of longitudinal steel,is analyzed. The lower limit of crack spacing is also obtained.
