Comparative study on bending performance between hollow PHC pipe piles and PHC pipe piles with concrete core

  • Based on the bending performance test analysis of the hollow and grouted PHC pipes, suggestions about correcting the cracking moment calculation method for PHC pipe piles are proposed. Moreover, the calculation formulae for the cracking moment and the ultimate moment of pipe piles filled with the concrete core are derived. Finally, the comparative analysis shows that the theoretical calculation results agree with the measured values. Therefore, the proposed method is reliable, accurate and reasonable. It can be used as the basis of the calculation and design of related engineering and used to guide production and practice.
