Abstract
Tunneling often passes through rock mass joints inevitably. The interface element is introduced into Plaxis to simulate joint plane. The deformation around tunnel, mechanics state of lining and stability under different inclining angles of joints are systematically studied. The research results may provide an effective method for the forecast of deformation, design of structures and analysis of stability of the tunnel crossing rock mass joints. It is also helpful for calculation and monitoring of tunnel during construction in the future.
