Embedded-beam approach for measuring interior lateral displacement of soils using FBG technique

  • In the field of soil dynamics tests, one of the main issues from many practical problems is to measure the internal displacement of soils. There are many types of traditional transducers for this measurement, but their performance is not satisfactory. The purpose of this work is to develop a new implantable beam method for measuring dynamic lateral displacement. Based on the approach of FBG sensors, shaking table tests are carried out to verify the validity of the proposed method.
