Large scale model tests on load transfer mechanism of long piled group foundation

  • There are many research achievements for load transfer mechanism of long pile foundation. Most of them are based on single pile foundation at present. Therefore, the load transfer mechanism of the long pile group foundation needs further studies, including the shaft and tip resistance and the distribution of soil reaction under the raft of pile group foundation. A brief summary of the tests is provided. The measured axial force, shaft and tip resistance in each test are presented. The load-displacement transfer mechanisms of the resistance changing with the load and displacement are compared and discussed for the foundation piles at different positions. The results can provide the basis for tests and the practical reference for the settlement mechanism of long piled group foundation.
