Effect of construction of deep excavation in Hangzhou silty sand on adjacentmetro tunnels and stations

  • The researches on the settlement of soil, deformation of retaining wall and environmental impact of deep excavation of Metro Control Center during construction, which is 6~8 m away from the metro tunnel and station, are presented. A series of methods are taken, such as dewatering, water proofing and double-row retaining wall to ensure the safety of the metro tunnel and station. The construction is succeeded with the deformation of metro tunnel in the range of allowable values.
