3-D finite element analysis of a deep excavation in Lanzhou area

Abstract
Through plan optimization of a real project in Lanzhou area, a combining supporting technology of the upper soil-nailing wall and the lower the row piles with pre-stress anchors is proposed. The design of supporting structure and dewatering are carried out. The large nonlinear analysis software is used for the construction process simulation of the supporting and dewatering. The groundwater seepage field and displacement distribution field around the excavation and the supporting structure change of internal force are obtained. The finite element results are comparison with the actual monitoring values, and they are in good agreement. The results show that the combining supporting system is a kind of effective support technology, and it may provide reference for the supporting and dewatering design of similar projects in Lanzhou area.
