Abstract
The results of in-situ tests show that the stress state and deformation characteristics of a tall building with large-area raft foundation are closely related to the foundation of the first span podium. The building has the ability to adjust different ground stress states caused by different structural rigidities and loads between the tall building and podiums. For the conventional projects, the calculated depth of subsoil compressible stratum under large-area thick raft foundation under the tall building is about 1.2 times the width of its foundation. The deformation control conditions of large-area thick raft foundation can take the following limits: the overall largest flexure limit under tall buildings is no more than 0.5‰, and the maximum settlement difference limit between the tall building and the first span podium connecting with the tall building does not exceed 0.001 l, and the maximum settlement difference limit among the annexs other columns does not exceed 0.002 l.
