Experimental study on creep of warm and ice-rich frozen soil

  • In order to study the creep characteristics of warm and ice-rich frozen soil,a series of uniaxial creep tests of frozen clay with water content of 40%,80%,120% at temperature of –0.3℃,–0.5℃,–1.0℃were conducted respectively.It was shown that the creep process of the warm and ice-rich frozen soil was always attenuate;at the same temperature and time,the strength of the frozen soil with 40% water content was the greatest,and that with 120% water content was greater than that with 80%.Furthermore,the parameters of the creep equation,long-term strength equation and relationship between stress and strain of the warm and ice-rich frozen soil were obtained.
