Study on relation between strength parameter and water content of gouge

  • In the engineering project of rocky slope,the faults are the boundary condition of destabilization mass.The strength parameters of fault depend on the gouge and the water content of gouge is an important factor for the strength parameters.There was an inflection point in the relation between the strength and water content of gouges.When the water content of gouge was less than the water content of inflection point,its strength parameters rapidly decreased with the increasing of water content.On the other hand,the strength parameters decreased gradually with the increasing of water content when the water content of gouge was greater than the water content of inflection point.At last,the relation between the water content of inflection point and the plastic and liquid limit was establised.
