Experimental studies on electro-osmotic consolidation of soft clay using EKG electrodes

A laboratory test program was conducted on soft clay using electro-kinetic geosynthetics (EKG) and geotextiles electrodes. The variation of voltage gradient, current density, suction pressure and settlement were measured. The water content, shear strength and consolidation curve of the samples after consolidation were compared with the initial indexes. Some advices were given to the further improvement on the EKG material.
