Abstract
The different stress states of soils on land and se abed were explored. The stress state of seabed in ocean was recovered in triaxia l test sy stem by using back pressure as static hydraulic pressure to simulate the dept h of water. Then the effects of water depth on seabed soil were discussed. In add ition, the seabed soil was loaded by waves more frequently than by earthquake. The dif ferent loading periods of seabed soil were also simulated by dynamic triaxial test system. As revealed by the experimental results, the depth of water would have a distinct effect on seabed sand in liquefaction resistance strength. The liquefaction resistance of seabed sand would increase with increasing period of wave and was controlled by threshold stress of seabed liquefaction.
