Analysis of space-time effect for urban shallow tunneling by excavation

Based on elastic-viscoplastic model,the three dimensional finite element analysis code developed by the author is used to investigate the space-time effect of land subsidence as well as the deformation and the stability of surrounding rocks for an urban shallow tunneling.A comparison between the calculated and measured results has proved that these results are satisfactory and provide the basis and guidance for the practical engineering.
