Abstract
The performance of two reinforced and one unreinforced slopes was studied with full-scale models. The models were surcharged until collapse under a strip footing near the slope crest. The paper focuses on the test design and instrumentation of the slopes. The test results snow that the ultimate footing bearing capacity of reinforced slopes with geogrid reinforcement is about 1.6-2 times that of the identical unreinforced slope.
