Calculation of complete curve of shear resistance for bolted rock joints based on large deformation analysis

Abstract
This paper presents a new analytical model for predicting the localized shear-tensile behavior of a bolt under large deformation based on measuring the displacement of bolted rock joints. The formulation of global resistance of bolted rock joints under shearing-tensile loads is proposed. The theoretical complete curves of bolts contribution on reinforced rock joints as the function of joint displacements (or deformation angle of bolt at rock joints) are obtained, and the validity of the theoretical approach is confirmed by experiment results.
