Analysis of stress and displacement around a deep circular tunnel in transversely isotropic soil

Abstract
Based on Biot’s theory of consolidation, the timedependent analytical solutions of stress,displacement and pore pressure induced by circular tunnel excavation in a transversely isotropic and saturated soil are obtained in the Laplace transform domain. The results of numerically inverse Laplace transform are used to analyze the influences of boundary condition of tunnel and transversely isotropic property of soil on the stress,displacement and pore pressure.
