Abstract
Based on finite element analysis, this thesis makes a comprehensive study on the bearing capacity of rock socketed piles under vertical load,as well as its three influencing factors socketed depth, bedrock strength and thickness of sediments. It brings forward the finite element method of rock socketed piles using the Duncan non linear elastic E-B model. The results of the analysis make sure that socketed depth has an effect on piles, and come to the conclusion that the vertical bearing capacity of rock socketed piles is in power relation with the strength of the bedrock. The results emphasize that the sediment in the pile bed will increase not only the average shaft resistance and the settlement of rock socketed piles, but also the stress in the surrounding rock significantly. These conclusions can be used as a reference in research, design and construction of pile foundation.
