Treatment on 46000 m² foundation of chemical fibre project of SINOPEC Luoyang Petrochemical Complex with dynamic consolidation

In this paper, a case history of treating collapsible loess foundation with high energy dynamic consolidation is reviewed. It is found that strengthening effect of foundation after dynamic compacting is remarkable, based on the comprehensive analysis in examination of foundation, inspection of foundation holes and settlement observation of major structures. The treatment of foundation is successful. The shear strength characteristics of loess have been revealed after compacting,and deformation feature of foundation is analyzed under heavy loads.
