Uniaxial tension and mechanical model of rock

In this study, on the basis of uniaxial tensile test of ten kinds of rock,the increase of inelastic strain with stress has been investigated.The non-linear visco-elastic model was proposed which could be used to explain failure behaviour of uniaxial tension of rock. And by comparison of uniaxial tension model and crack extension model, the relationship between the increase of inelastic strain and crack extension was discussed.
