Experimental study on dynamic properties of cohesive soil reinforced with fibres

  • This paper studies the effect of cohesive soil reinforced with polypropylen fibres on the tensile resistance against crack under static and cyclic looding. The experimental results show that in comparison with the noareinfereed sol the mechanical propertiesof the reinforced soil, such as the ultimate tensile stress, the ultimate tensile strain, the dynamic strength,the crihcal fracfor toughness and the dynamic modulus all increase in a considerable degree. Thus it can be seen that the fabric reinforced soil is a goodfill for earth dam in respect of earthquake-resistance.
