Study on surface contact stress and settlement properties during dynamic consolidation

Abstract
Based on considering the hammer weight itself,the solutions of surface contact stress and settlement in transform domain are presented by combining the hammer rigid kinetic equation and transfer matrix method of 3 D axisymmetric elastodynamic problem for multi-layered foundation during dynamic consolidation. The contact stress-time and settlement-time relations are obtained,in which the Laplace-Hankel mixed inversion transforms are employed, and the contact time is also determined.Moreover,the reliability of the proposed method is proved by comparing calculated value with experimental data.The results show that the presented method in this paper can reflect the practical characteristics of dynamic consolidation and provide an useful numerical analysis method for multi-layercd foundation during dynamic consolidation
