Experimental research on swelling rocks′ roadbed improved with lime additive

The mechanism of diseases occurred in swelling rocks′ roadbed is described in this paper When the lime is used as improvement agent, the optimum lime additive amounts are determined on the basis of the comprehesive consideration of both alkali environment and unconfined compression strength after many cycles of drying and wetting in laboratory test The engineering properties of improved swelling rock with decreased slaking and swelling characteristics and increased strength are studied
