Influence of Particle Breakage on Deformation and Strength Properties of Calcareous Sands

The influence of particle breakage on deformation and strength properties of calcareous sands was investigated using artificial calcareous sands and triaxial testing. The results indicate that particle breakage depends on the sample′s plastic work received during testing, and reduces the volume expansion and peak strength of the sands.
