Centrifuge modeling of geotextile reinforced slope under partial excavation

  • The geotextile reinforcement is an effective way to strengthen soils in engineering. The centrifuge modeling of plain soil slope and geotextile-reinforced slope under excavation of slope foot is carried out, the displacement change of slopes is measured, and the deformation and failure process of soils and the action of geotextile are analyzed. The test results show that the geotextile reinforcement reduces the displacement of the sliding body, improves the stability of the soil slopes and changes the shape of the slip surface. The geotextile reinforcement homogenizes the slope deformation and pulls the outer soil, thus delaying and reducing the slope failure.
