Abstract
Taking the main canal aqueduct of Pihe River of the Yangtze-to-Huaihe Water Diversion Project as a reference research object, an experimental study is conducted on the dynamic water pressure of a rigid aqueduct under harmonic excitation using a centrifuge shaking table. The experimental results are compared and analyzed with those of the commonly used simplified models. The experimental results show that the dynamic water pressure is linearly correlated with the amplitude of acceleration, and nonlinearly correlated with the loading frequency and water depth. The centrifugal model tests can accurately simulate the dynamic water pressure and fluid-structure coupling effects, providing new analytical methods for the studies on the hydro-elasticity problems.
