Abstract
Interbedded soil is a special soil and is often encountered in littoral facies and river floodplain formations. Furthermore, the interbedded soil of cohesive soil and sandy soil is especially unique in its overall mechanical behavior due to the distinct behaviors of the cohesive soil layer and the sandy soil layer. A preparation method for samples of silty clay-silty sand interbedded soil is proposed, which can prepare remodeled interbedded samples with uniform layer thickness, uniform moisture content and density. Two parallel remodeled interbedded soil samples prepared under the same conditions are tested in undrained triaxial compression, and the consistency of the results indicates that the preparation method for samples has sound repeatability. Thus, the proposed preparation method can be used for further systematical researches on the static and dynamic mechanical behaviors of interbedded soils.
