Abstract
No. 36 Berth of Jingtang Port, a 200000-tonnage general bulk cargo berth, adopts the structure of sheet-pile wharf with relieving platform. It is currently the largest sheet-pile wharf in the world. For the deep-water sheet-pile structure with relieving platform, the existing design codes and specifications are not practical, leading to difficulties in structural design and optimization to a certain extent. The design schemes for the 200000-tonnage sheet-pile wharf are numerically simulated by means of the compiled program for the soil-structure interaction based on the finite element software ABAQUS. The relieving mechanism of the sheet-pile structure and the rules of soil-structure interaction are studied. The key design parameters of the sheet-pile structure such as internal force and deformation are yielded. The variation of the earth pressure on the front pile wall with the deformation of the wall is revealed so as to provide technical support for the structural design and optimization of the sheet-pile wharf.
