Abstract
The design scheme and construction progress of supports for deep excavation of a residential district in tidal flat areas of Haikou are taken as an example. The soil-nailing wall along with slope excavation hanging steel fabric shotcrete is adopted as the supporting structures based on the comprehensive consideration of structural characteristics, field survey and geological conditions. The continuous monitoring of foundation deformation is performed during the construction process. The monitoring data show that the largest cumulative horizontal and vertical displacements are 32.10 mm and 21.8 mm respectively, and other basic monitoring indexes are all within the standard limits of the design. The supporting structures for the deep excavation result in the satisfactory social and economic benefits, and this study may provide certain reference for the future similar excavations.
