Abstract
According to the characteristics of fuzziness and randomness in the classification of surrounding rock stability, the cloud model is introduced to conduct the corresponding evaluation. The cloud of each factor on different stability levels is generated based on the evaluation indexes. Considering the measured evaluation index values and the corresponding index weights, the comprehensive degrees of certainty are obtained. The stability level is finally specified by the maximum certainty degree. By comparing the evaluation results from the proposed cloud model with those of a practical example and other methods, it can be concluded that the proposed cloud model is reliable and simple, and its feasibility and effectiveness are verified. It may provide a reference method for other similar problems.
