Abstract: Based on the probabilistic medol relating to the main sources affecting uncertainties of soil propeies,amethod which may be used to evaluate the uncertainties is discussed。For the spatial average soil property,a curve-function method is put forward to compute the scale of fluctuation(correlation distance)according to the randomfield theory theory of soil piofiles.Then a synthetical formula is established to calculate the coefficient of spatial variation.
