State-of-the-art of Consistency Limits Tests

  • 摘要: 本文综述、分析和研究了70多年来液塑限稠度指标性质的试验研究及其成果。依据重塑粘性土的含水量与强度之间的唯一关系,对液塑限时的强度特性作出评述。最后,按照强度特性,建议与讨论了反向挤出法测塑限的新方法。此法既简单、经济、可靠,又合乎力学与塑性模拟的原理。

     

    Abstract: fn this paper, presented are the results of experimental studies during the past seventy years on the index properties of cohesive soils at two consistency limits, that is, the liquid and plastic limits. Based on the correlation that the undraincd shear strength of remolded cohesive soils depends solely on their water content, the strength properties at liquid limit and at plastic limit have been evaluated. Finally, the reversal extrusion method, as a new method for determining plastic limit according to the corresponding shear strength characteristics are described and considered to be promising future development. This method is simple, economic, reliable and acceptable in accordance with the principles of mechanics and plasticity.
