Abstract:
This paper deals with some important technical problems about the calculation of deformation of earth-rock dams, interesting hydraulic engineers at present time. The attention is centered mainly on three most important problems: the influence of stress path, the deformation of soil mass induced by wetting action (for example, during filling of reservoirs) and the constitution models of the non-linear elastic stress-strain behaviors of earth-rock fills. In this paper, some principal theoretical ideas and modified methods of calculation were suggested. Here, some problems about the influence of confining pressure level, also the over-consolidation and anisotropy of fill materials due to compaction procedure during construction were discussed too.
