Abstract: This  paper  develops  a  coupled  region  method,which  divided  the  entire  foundation  system  into  near  region（cap,pile  group,soil）and  far  region.Considering  the  characteristics  of  geometry,material,  and  load  in  each  region,they  are  modelled  by  semi  analytical  finite  element  method  and  semi  analytical  boundary  element  method respectively.  By  considering  continuity  conditions  on  the  interfaces,the  equations  with  respect  to  all  unknowns  can  be  set  up  and  worked  out.The  small amount of   computation  work,simple  data  preparation,  and  high  accuracy  of  the  present  method  can  be  demonstrated  by  analysing  some  examples.
