Abstract: Due to the limitation of the numerical models of rock bolts by finite element method(FEM) in geotechnical engineering,the bolt model for the FEM of strength reduction method and the optimization of anchor parameters was suggested.The model could consider the friction along the bolts.Then the corresponding program for the bolt model was developed.The model was used in the calculation of anchor projects in rock slopes.It was indicated that the model was convenient and feasible,and the applicability of the numerical simulation for the reinforced rock mass was enhanced.
