Abstract: In this study, in order to identify the geomaterial model in many model types and the parameters simultaneously, an Ecological Competition Model (ECM) is proposed from the Evolutionary Programming (EP) which can reflect the essence of the natural evolution. This evolutionary model which comes from the principles of the molecular biology can simulate the competition among species. Through using this ECM to identify the geomaterial model in many model types, a new algorithm for geomaterial model identification is proposed, and the problem of selecting an optimal geomaterial model from a group of models and identifying the parameters at the same time is solved preliminarily. At last, this algorithm is verified by a simple example.
