Abstract:
Based on the interface model of geogrid-soil dynamic interaction, a procedure, named G-D, is proposed for computation of the dynamic response of reinforced soil. The FE analysis results agree well with the observed data including acceleration-time response from the UCLA reinforced soil retaining wall at the University of California. Finally, the dynamic response contrast analysis of the road model reinforced with geogrid and the unreinforced road model is studied in order to show the reinforement effect under the automobile loadings, and illuminate the principle of geogrid-soil dynamic interaction. Then, theoretical background is provided for engineering design and construction.
